When we returned from last nights game drive we headed back to our room to drop off cameras and freshen up, the idea being to meet the others for dinner, we never got there!
When we opens the door to our room we were greeted with Rose petals and candles all over the place. The Rose petals were on the bed, the desk, all over the bathroom floor with more tea light candles just everywhere. It was amazing. Then we saw the note that was left for us. We were being given a private anniversary dinner, they had even run a beautiful bath for us with a tray next to it with chilled champagne…. We had a menu to select from and then Reinas, our butler, started serving us our meal. We were truly spoiled.. But more was to come.
After mains Reinas brought desert, as he entered the room he and Robin, the night porter, started singing happy birthday to Helen. Amazing! Then we saw the huge chocolate cake they had for Helen’s birthday, yummy…. We could eat it all so today at breakfast we shared it with the group from our landrover. Chocolate cake for brekkie, now that’s decadence. A huge thankyou to the team at Simbambili for making our anniversary and Helen’s birthday so very special.
