The Epicurious Wanderers!

Hello Singapore

Ok so apparently there is a limit to the amount of chilli one should consume! Suffered a little last night from indigestion due to excessive chilli in everything I consumed yesterday. But hey I’m a big boy so no complaints, just a lesson learned. So let’s recap the first day.

Our flight in was good, Singapore Air is a great way to fly, hey isn’t that their advertising line. Well no matter, we would have to say that we think it’s true and that they are probably our airline of choice for service, comfort etc. It probably is an illusion but it seems there is more room in the seats. On arrival in Singapore we had an amazing thing happen, our bags where first off the plane, normally they are last. We waltzed through customs etc and within 15 minutes of touching down we were in a taxi on way to the hotel.

As we arrived so early our room wasn’t ready but we could drop the bags and go off wandering. We reacquainted ourselves with the area, checked out new things and stretched our legs. Then it was time for breakfast, local style, which means finding a Hawker market and grabbing some noodles.

We then turned our attention a little bit of shopping, I wanted a a few electrical items and Helen is after shoes and sunglasses. I found my things at Sim Lim mall, a giant maze of electrical stores. Helen wasn’t so lucky first up but there is always Orchard Road for later in the day.
At about 10:30 we returned to the hotel to check in proper and then have a little snooze, neither of us slept well on the plane, then a freshen up before hitting the shops again.

Stay tuned more to follow…
