Every Friday afternoon is what has become known as Men in Sheds at work. Basically myself and the other two men at work gather in our groundsmans shed for a couple of beers and some banter. No these are not just megaswill beers, no not for us, we look for craft brews and beers from around the word to satisfy our palates. Last Friday was my turn and I took along a red ale, haven’t had one for ages and had forgotten how good they can be. The low hop profile combined with rich gentle red hues and a lightly balanced malt profile are a joy to drink. This got me thinking, time to brew and an Irish Red Ale was born…

Well if its one thing the Ozzies have got nailed to perfection and that’s to know when work time has finished and the real important stuff begins!
Sadly us Kiwis are horrifyingly time poor and by the time we get around to having our Friday arvo beer its 9 pm Sunday night and then you have to get organised for bloody Monday morning’s work.
Which reminds me when is Armish having a tasting session ?
you and young Armish will need to bring beers this way for my tasting pleasure!
